Description

The Institute of Design Montréal Awards competition underscores the excellence of Quebec design and demonstrates that design creates wealth, enhances the quality of life and expresses a society's cultural identity. It is organized in collaboration with professional design associations and orders, with the backing of business associations and with the financial support of Canada Economic Development and the Ministère des Affaires municipales et des Régions.
There is one award of excellence for each category. The winning designer in each category receives a trophy and a certificate. The winner's client company also receives a certificate. Special mentions may be awarded and in such cases, both the designer and the client company receive a certificate.

Furthermore, the winners, finalists and semi-finalists selected by the jury enjoy prominent visibility during the activities surrounding the competition (Gala, exhibition, prestige publications, special inserts in major newspapers, etc.). This year, the winners and their clients will also be given an official seal they will be entitled to display on the packaging or advertising for their winning product or project.

Eligibility
Any product or project carried out and completed in Quebec by a designer less than three years prior to the competition entry deadline, except for Fashion Design, where the apparel must be from the 2007 Spring/Summer or Fall/Winter collection(s).
