The intent of the Canadian Design Gateway is to provide a single virtual design window to help Canadians make full use of our designers' know-how. Among other things, the gateway is a venue for: establishing new contacts; cementing local, national and international relations; displaying exemplary accomplishments in design, and communicating design industry data and information to the interested and the adventurous. Some of the site's sections have been newly developed, such as Professions, which, for each design discipline, lists the profession's definition, the services provided by its practitioners, educational institutions offering programs and courses, and relevant associations and groups. The Library section contains examples of Canadian publications about design. Other sections, like Circle of Honour, Awards, Essential Links and Sites of Interest have been expanded.
