Biography
In 1992, Lucie Lacava founded Lacava
Design Inc., a firm offering a full
range of design, training and consulting
services in press and magazine publishing.
She was artistic director at the newspaper
The Gazette before joining the
team at Le Devoir, where she
redesigned the layout. Since then, she
has redesigned more than thirty dailies
and magazines, many of which are published
in the United States or Europe.
Le Devoir, Le Soleil and The
National Post earned the distinction
of "the world's best-designed newspapers"
at international competitions held by
the Society for News Design in the United
States. In 2001, she was elected president
of that society, an honorary position
she held for a year.
