Biography
After starting his career in Sweden,
working for Volvo, Koen De Winter returned
to Holland. There he developed many
household products for the firm Rosti-Mepal,
where he was in charge of the design
department. In 1979, Montreal's Danesco
Corporation asked him to come to Canada.
Until the founding of HippoDesign Inc.,
he combined the vice-presidency of Danesco
Inc. with teaching at the School of
Design at UQAM. He is the former president
of ADIQ and its national equivalent
and he represents Quebec in the permanent
MONA collection in New York.
For its European and North American
clients, HippoDesign develops products
renowned for their quality and innovativeness.
